Calendar 2008
- April 30: Deadline for receiving slides/CD, entry form, $25 jury fee and SASE.
- May 9: Notification of jury results mailed to artists.
- May 23, 27-30: Hand delivered work accepted at Art Source Gallery from 10am – 5:30pm.
- May 30: All accepted works must be at Art Source Gallery.
- June 5: Opening reception, 5-9 pm. Awards announced 6:30pm. Show hangs though June 28.
- June 28, 30, July 1: Return of all work. Pick up all hand delivered entries between 10am and 6pm.
- July 7: All remaining work will be shipped at the artists’ expense.
Awards: The Best-of-Show and Runners-Up award recipients will receive cash awards totaling $1000.
Juror: Roland Giampaoli is the founder of the “Paint and Draw” school. He has a diverse background in the graphic arts industry, doing commercial art, design and illustration. Roland spent 25 years as an owner of an advertising art studio in Chicago before moving to Idaho. For 8 years he was an adjunct professor in the Boise State University Art Department. Since 1990, Roland has been the owner of “Paint and Draw” art school in Boise, ID. In his own art, he prefers to paint with watercolors and do pen & ink drawings. His school is attended by teens through adults, where the main focus is basic drawing, pen & ink and watercolor, although other media are taught.
Eligibility: The exhibit is open to all fine artists and media (no video or crafts). All work must be original and completed within the last three years. Artists may submit up to 3 works of art. Accepted works must be professionally framed and wired to hang. Three dimensional works are limited to 75 pounds. Any accepted work that differs from the image will not be displayed.
Shipping and Return: Shipped entries will be received at Art Source Gallery May 20 through May 30. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and art work must be sent in cartons or crates suitable for return COD by UPS. No packing peanuts, please. Entry information (artist, title, price) must be attached to the back of each piece. Please enclose a typed return address label and enclose a note as to whether or not you wish to have insurance on return shipping and the insurance value. If you do not indicate whether or not you want insurance on return shipping, we will add it at your cost.
Liability:All possible care will be taken with your pieces while in our gallery, however Art Source Gallery and its agents will assume no liability for damage or loss. You are advised to carry your own insurance on your work. Any claims against the shipper are the responsibility of the artist.
Sales: Sales are encouraged (but not mandatory). A 30% commission will be retained by Art Source Gallery on sales. Artists will be mailed a check within 30 days after the sale.
Slides or Digital Images: You may submit up to three different entries in one of two formats (one image per entry for 2D, 3D may submit up to 2 images per entry): 1. 35mm slides in standard (not glass) mounts or 2. Digital images on CD in a jpg format or email jpg images to ZellaBardsley@cableone.net.
For slides, label the front of the each slide with title, date of completion, medium, dimensions, corresponding number with entry form and artist name. Please indicate the top. Your slides/CD will be returned if you include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Jury Fee: The $25 jury fee is for up to three different entries. The total amount you submit for 1-3 entries is $25.

Please mail the above to Art Source Gallery, 1015 Main Street, Boise, ID 83702. Please include your properly labeled slides or digital images in a .jpg format, $25 jury fee (check payable to Art Source Gallery) and self-addressed, stamped envelope for slide/CD return. Entries must be received by April 30, 2008.
Art Source Gallery is an artist-owned gallery located at 1015 Main in downtown Boise, with an Annex at the Boise Air Terminal. Art Source represents 41 Idaho artists in a wide variety of media including paintings, sculpture, photography, pottery and fine jewelry. Hours are 10-6, Monday through Saturday, open until 9pm on the First Thursday of the month.
