Weaver and Fiber Artist
I grew up on a farm near Meridian. After graduating from the University of Idaho with a degree in textiles, I lived in a number of places around the country. In Chicago I began to develop my skills in fiber: spinning, weaving, dyeing and creating wearable art. I continued my professional development as a member of the Waterford Weavers Guild when I moved to the Washington, D.C. area, where for 25 years I also ran a successful interior design business specializing in custom window treatments.
My love for color and dyeing is the catalyst for everything I produce. My angora rabbits supply the raw material for many of my creations. My shawls and scarves are hand woven from a variety of natural fibers: silk, wool, mohair, bamboo, cotton and, of course, angora. At least half the yarns in my creations are hand dyed.
