Metalsmith and Jewelry Artist
When I was young my summers were spent living in logging camps in
the mountains of Idaho. Without television, movies or malls to entertain us,
my pals and I had to be creative, and I always liked our treasure hunts best.
I think this had an effect on my career choice, as I'm now constantly searching
for the most visually exciting stones and objects to incorporate into my own
treasures.
I've always been interested in all kinds of art; I didn't settle on being a
metalsmith until about mid-life. I have a BFA in Graphic Design from the
University of Denver. I later studied Art Metals at Boise State University and at
many workshops and seminars. I have also studied and practiced many other
mediums, including ceramics, sculpture, woodcarving, calligraphy, airbrush,
polymer clay. leatherwork, engineering drafting and tattooing, but! feel that
metalsmithing is what I've been looking for all along. My varied background
brings a multitude of facets to my current work, and I often find myself
drawing on a technique, image or theme from another medium that adds a new
dimension to both my jewelry and my assemblage sculpture.
My work can be seen in the following galleries:

Aurum, Jerome, Arizona
Boise Art Museum Gift Shop, Boise, Idaho
